New Magnetic Ring Encoder Offers Velocity Feedback for Large Shafts
SCHAUMBURG, IL (February 2013) –
A new magnetic ring encoder strategically segmented to simply fit around large shafts is now available from Leine & Linde. Called the MRI 2000, this new ring encoder meets the challenge that some large machinery OEMs and users face of increasing output power at the same time as reducing weight, such as in wind turbines for example.
HEIDENHAIN’s New Point-to-Point Control for Boring Mills
To meet the needs of basic point-to-point CNC milling machines, HEIDENHAIN introduces a new compact but versatile straight-cut control, the TNC 128. This new control is well suited for machines with a central drive as well as those with independent drives and servo spindle.
LVDTs versus Optical Scanning
Gaging fixtures are a staple in many metrology labs and assembly lines. They offer a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to determine if a measured part passes tolerances. Two popular tools that are found in many fixtures are HEIDENHAIN length gages and Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT). While LVDTs and HEIDENHAIN length gages are both used for the same purpose, the way they operate is fundamentally different.
New interactive training concept from HEIDENHAIN HIT– HEIDENHAIN Interactive Training: The License to Learn Easily
HIT– HEIDENHAIN Interactive Training is the new concept for comprehensive and practice-oriented learning of how to program machine-tool controls. It consists of three modules that complement each other: an interactive training software, the programming station software, and the HIT Milling Workbook.
