ERN 400 series

Incremental rotary encoders with integral bearing

  • Very high axial tolerance of up to ±1 mm
  • Blind hollow shaft or hollow through shaft
  • Positioning accuracy of down to ±12″
  • Fault exclusion for rotor coupling possible
  • Max. operating temperature: 100 °C
  • Interfaces: 1 VPP, TTL, and HTL
  • Housing diameter ≈ 56 mm
Direct shaft coupling

The encoder’s hollow shaft allows it to be directly coupled to the mating shaft. No additional rotor coupling is required. The high rigidity permits higher control-loop bandwidths while significantly reducing inaccuracy and installation complexity.

Wide variety of interfaces

The rotary encoders of this series are available with various interfaces, allowing them to be connected directly to most subsequent electronics. Neither an adapter nor a signal converter is necessary.

Flexible coupling

The stator coupling compensates for play between the motor and the rotary encoder, thereby correcting inaccuracy. Even tilt and axial play of up to ±1 mm can be reliably compensated for. The stator coupling also facilitates easy mounting to the plane surface.

Proven standard

The rotary encoders of this series boast high reliability and perfected technology in a robust design. For decades, they have proven themselves around the world in great numbers within industrial applications and elevators.
