HEIDENHAIN team builds bikes, builds community
This summer, the HEIDENHAIN team came together for a special day of teamwork, philanthropy, and fun. As part of our annual summer picnic, employees participated in a Build-A-Bike® team event—rolling up their sleeves to assemble brand-new bicycles that will be donated to children in the Chicagoland area.
Eleven teams worked side by side, problem-solving, collaborating, and celebrating each bike completed. By the end of the afternoon, 11 new bicycles stood ready to bring joy to kids in our community who might not otherwise have access to one.
The event was more than just building bikes—it was about building connections. Colleagues from across the company came together, strengthened teamwork, and shared in the rewarding experience of giving back. After the last bike was finished, the celebration continued with a picnic lunch, games, and activities, making it a true day of community both inside and outside HEIDENHAIN.
We were proud to partner with The Leader’s Institute®, the organization behind the original Build-A-Bike® concept. Since its creation 20 years ago, this program has donated more than 75,000 bikes worldwide—over $8 million worth of bicycles that have made a real difference in children’s lives. HEIDENHAIN is honored to now be part of that legacy.
